Mars Victory

It’s been 18 months or so since I re-started my hobby of clay shooting after a 19 year layoff (yes, 19 years) and during that time, I have had but one aspiration.

To win a Kingsferry Mars Bar.

At this splendid Isle of Sheppey club, it has been a tradition to present the first shooter of the day to complete 25 straight, with a chocolate trophy. Today, and I pause here not for dramatic effect but to clear the tears of joy from my eyes, it was my turn to be so presented.

Normally such an event would not warrant photographic recording, but because I’m so naff at Skeet and therefore unlikely to rise to this level again, an exception was made. I just happened to have my Pentax handy. Now there’s a thing.

In all honesty, I’m chuffed to bits. A big thanks to Dave and Norman from KFGC.

If you fancy a go at this be-witching (well, I think it is) discipline the club can be contacted on;

Dashes to places marine warranty aside, I hope to be there again this sunday. If you go, I’ll see you there.

About allatsea

Sixty year old master-mariner. Absolutely gorgeous. Well wedged.....when compared to a Nairobi street urchin. Sorted, in that I haven't been in court recently. Hopelessly optimistic, terminally disappointed. Good with cats and other fluffy things. No musical talent. Generous to a fault provided it's someone else's round. Political centreist with far right and left viewpoints. A green activist from the hydrocarbon position with nuclear leanings. Averse to avarice but always happy to receive lottery wins, gifts, windfalls, legacies, prizes and wet sloppy kisses.
