Another day another delay

Dodgy trains at the start of the day and a protracted run into town. Twenty minutes late into the office so not the brightest of starts. The airways are being re-opened, parts are, then they’re not because there’s more ash on the way. Thankful to be NOT traveling anywhere. Plenty of colleagues stuck where they shouldn’t be. They seem to have a better sense of humour than me and aren’t moaning. Hats off to them indeed but I’ve always found a good loud foul mouthed rant very useful at such times..

The papers and news websites are full of the completely fascile story that Adrian Chiles (witless banality personified) is moving from the BBC to ITV. HOORAY. Nice chap he may well be but goodness gracious….anodyne or what? Apart from Corry we’re an ITV free house so won’t be seeing him. Bring on Mr Evans (and I nver thought I’d end up saying that!!).

Last weekend’s pleasant weather saw the first rush to the beaches on North Kent’s gold coast. Allatsea towers was lost to view behind a vast Hypermarket like carpark of pesky out-of-towners determined to enjoy the wide open spaces (below the  high water mark) of Westbrook Bay. It is a bit frustrating being buried under so many hatchbacks but at the same time, lovely to see the place come to life once again. Madam allatsea and myself may well be tempted to roll up our trousers and venture forth for a paddle or two soonish. Pushing the boundaries has always been a factor in our animated and eclectic lifestyle. It’s what keeps us going.

Hope we’ve got peas for tea.

About allatsea

Sixty year old master-mariner. Absolutely gorgeous. Well wedged.....when compared to a Nairobi street urchin. Sorted, in that I haven't been in court recently. Hopelessly optimistic, terminally disappointed. Good with cats and other fluffy things. No musical talent. Generous to a fault provided it's someone else's round. Political centreist with far right and left viewpoints. A green activist from the hydrocarbon position with nuclear leanings. Averse to avarice but always happy to receive lottery wins, gifts, windfalls, legacies, prizes and wet sloppy kisses.
