Nowt going on at t’office so took the day as leave.
A stiff (oooh madam) westerly blowing and the white horses at Westbrook Bay are far too numerous for August. Feel a bit sorry for the day trippers. The wind surfers and kiters seem happy enough though.
After an 18 month lay up, the Super Custon 40 started pretty easily. The 5% nitromethane fuel has gone all dark but, still works. Used up around 150 cc of fuel in about 12 minutes running at 3/4 throttle. Now all that’s needed is to finish building the plane that it’s going in. A small matter. One best left for another day perhaps. For the test if was bolted into a wooden test mount and that was gripped in the old Black and Decker workmate. The workmate went walk-abouts at full throttle and only an ungainly but desperate lunge from allatsea saved the day. The garage anyway.
