The streets of London

Monday, possibility of travelling to Italy in the afternoon, waiting on a phone call from the client. Have to travel in with all travelling, kit. It’s the PPE required these days. Tonnes of the stuff, irritating to say the least as well as hard work lugging it about.
Our caring, safety conscious, altruistic comrades and co-workers in the tube unions are out on strike again today so road and pavement chaos in Lundunn Tarn. Bless them. Their behaviour however arguably no worse than the numpties who despite the near dangerously crowded pavements, insist on deploying huge golfing umbrellas to keep the few spits of rain off their precious but evidently empty heads. Ghastly peeps.
Arrive at desk, breathless following the epic trek avec baggage along the mighty Moorgate to find a cheery chum greeting me with the words ‘The Italy job’s gone back a few days’. Welcome news of course but the darned baggage will have to be manhandled all the way back to Cannon Street come teatime. Sigh.

About allatsea

Sixty year old master-mariner. Absolutely gorgeous. Well wedged.....when compared to a Nairobi street urchin. Sorted, in that I haven't been in court recently. Hopelessly optimistic, terminally disappointed. Good with cats and other fluffy things. No musical talent. Generous to a fault provided it's someone else's round. Political centreist with far right and left viewpoints. A green activist from the hydrocarbon position with nuclear leanings. Averse to avarice but always happy to receive lottery wins, gifts, windfalls, legacies, prizes and wet sloppy kisses.
