Eeeek, the two Koreas are lobbing shells at each other and they’re not the sort you pick up from the beach they’re boom boom ones. It’s sent a shiver down old allatsea’s spine. Over they years he’s spent quite a bit of time there and it always had the feel of the powder keg in a welding shop about it. May well be time to take cover or even kiss your botty goodbye. Bye bye botty.
Nearer home it’s cold and getting colder. The paper’s are full of doom and gloom on the financial front and the obese yobtwat in charge of the RMT (the union with the most dimwtted and maleable members in industrial history) are threatening to bring misery to millions, yet again and again and again and again. Ghastly oiks to a man and woman.
Hopefully, in around 5 days I shall be free of the tyranny that is commuting in SE England. Friday night train chaos at Cannon Street due to ‘electrical problems at Blackfriars’, tens of thousands of peeps being asked to perform superhuman tricks of humiliation in order to get on trains. Monday night, even more chaos at Cannon Street as a train broke down and blocked three out of the seven platforms. Police had to be called to keep the massed hordes out of the place. Horrid, 21ist century Britain!! Then this morning, train chaos everywhere east of Faversham as the ‘engineering works’ overran. It’s difficult to describe putting straight bits of steel onto sleepers as engineering (low level assembly would be more apt) but I think they do it to make it sound laudable and difficult. It’s not, it’s just that they’re inept and inadequate.
Book recommendation from the allatsea library this month, there can only be one possible nominee. ‘The self sufficiency guide to home brewing’. Wonderful stuff indeed. We’ve got 50 litres of light wheat beer on the go as a this is written. Assuming it all turns out to be bottle-able, that should save us buying any in for at least a week. Burp.
