Memsahib seems to have forgiven the chucks for the garden decimation yesterday. She’d kept them in the extended run all day but did source some green treats to keep them happy. A few hours ago they were on the brink of being turned into broth. Amazing what a bit of mercy (or maybe it’s just chilled thought followed by repentance?) can do. Imagine all the zillions of peeps and animals that have copped it just for the want of ‘thinking about it’ for a few minutes. Temper is dangerous thing, no mistake about it. Allatsea levels no critism here, he is, on these matters humbled by the term ‘there but for the grace of god’. Indeed indeed.
Had a dental implant in the lower left jaw last Sunday morning. Yes Sunday. Where there’s brass there’s service as they say up Norff. Needless to say it wasn’t on the NHS. Far from it, the bill was slightly more than you’d expect to pay for a family car or a luxury cruise around the world….several times. That said, wodge issues aside, there’s been no discomfort at all so far despite the industrial scale of the drilling involved and the use of torque wrenches. The packs of strong prescription only pain killers handed over with stern warnings about exceeding the stated dose weren’t needed and amen to that people.
The Open golf championship is going on just down the road in Sandwich and us chaps wot work in Ramsgate were a tadge worried that the resultant traffic chaos in this part of the world would have made commuting into a battleground. It hasn’t so far. Not a sign of it. Thanks to the patron saint of ex mariners driving Nissan Primeras …… again. Especially red ones.
