What’s in a name?

In a recent post allatsea wrote, or slipping into Fannit parlance………’ritt’ the following

“Bigbadtom has been neutered and had his bad bits mended. The vet found an old airgun pellet lodged in him and there’s plenty of evidence that he’s had a bit a bit of a falling out with a moving motor car but other than that, he’s all right.
Anyway he’s turned into the cutest of cutest rescue tom-mogs and is absolutely gorgeous to have around the towers.”

What I forgot to mention was that he’s been renamed to suit his new status as a domestic moggy rather than a feral tom. No more bigbadtom, he’s now called ‘Clive’. Don’t blame me folks, speak to memsahib.

Off to Rotterdam tomorrow, fingers crossed it warms and dries up a bit. Waalhaven isn’t the most attractive of places at the best of times (if my memory serves me right), early February in heavy winter rain certainly does it no favours.

About allatsea

Sixty year old master-mariner. Absolutely gorgeous. Well wedged.....when compared to a Nairobi street urchin. Sorted, in that I haven't been in court recently. Hopelessly optimistic, terminally disappointed. Good with cats and other fluffy things. No musical talent. Generous to a fault provided it's someone else's round. Political centreist with far right and left viewpoints. A green activist from the hydrocarbon position with nuclear leanings. Averse to avarice but always happy to receive lottery wins, gifts, windfalls, legacies, prizes and wet sloppy kisses.
