It all seemed so easy.
Think of a domain name, check to see if it’s available. Register it. Find a web hosting company (there are dozens), part company with a small amount of money for a year’s hosting and Bob’s your uncle.
Well it wasn’t….it isn’t.
There’s great gnashing of teeth here at the towers. Allatsea is completely flummoxed as to how to actually get a page up and running on the fledgling site. Soooo frustrating. Setting up an email account with the new domain on the server and getting it to work successfully was very straight forward.
Creating a page or two and getting them up and running is proving remarkably difficult for this weary and limited old head. If there’s anyone out there who can help, please please, please get in touch.
When the North wind blows in the winter, it can be very uncomfortable here at the towers, located as it is, atop the low cliffs at Westbrook. This winter however, we’ve seen hardly any Northerlies at all…thankfully and I’m very-very-very glad that the towers isn’t near a river bank or in the floodplain. Just a few miles down the road the good folks of Canterbury and the surrounds are having to wear very tall wellies indeed.
