Up up and away in my beautiful F 50 City-Jet flight from LCY to Rotters tomorrow afternoon. All is well. Just need to order up a barrowful of Euro notes to pay for the taxis at the other end. It’s a great condundrum is taxi travel in the Netherlands. It’s the most expensive way to travel, short of executive Jet hire, known to mankind. A fifteen minute scoot down the motorway will set you back about 80 Euros. It’s ball aching. It does make us here at the towers wonder why anyone in Holland would bother spending years and years getting a skill or a profession. You need poke all to drive a battered Mercedes E class around at a zillion miles an hour and earn lorry loads of wonga. Puzzlement indeed.
Visits today for the towers team included;
The Kabin Cafe at St Peters industrial estate. Yum yum yum egg and beans, in my tum tum.
Hampton Pier (just west of Herne Bay), calm, peaceful and very nice to sit and ponder.
Westbrook Bay because that’s where all the beautiful and the good go……..
Epple Bay….to visit mummy allatsea……
Westgate to see the man at Ivanhoe motors and organise a service for the vanjamjar…
Tesco………to buy gin.
Northdown to visit drunk nunky and drink gin.
Back to Westbrook to lie down and recover from a day doing lots of things completely unconnected to work. Luvverly.
Lost and Found. Friend of the towers, stray moggies, CAMRA and the RBL, Charles Giles, this taken two years ago at his 90th birthday celebrations. Living proof that 8 pints a days and an aversion to fresh food is good for you.
