Oooh yawn, a little bit of politics

Here at the towers we like to think we believe in fairness and meritocracy, genuinely.

Honest your honour!!

This does get put to the test every now and again though when folks start talking bollocks and expecting us to believe it. . Most recently the wallah wot is the RMT boss-honcho-godfather-yobmouth designate. He says that the majority of people that use the trains a lot (c’est moi) want the railways back in public hands…..!!

Mr Union man, no we don’t.

We want lower fares and better service.

To suggest that ‘returning the railways to public ownership’ is the path required to ensure ‘lower fares’, is laughable. It is well known that when the over-manned, indolent and non-customer focussed British Rail was in ‘full public ownership mode’ the way to deal with overcrowding was simply to put the fares up!!! Plain simple fact, one that seems to have been forgotten by the the self interested gangland bully boys in the RMT.

How about getting rid of the antiquated, feudal and unwarranted free travel for life and other bizarre travel  PRIVILEGES enjoyed by rail employees and their zillions of family members? That would enable lower rail fares for those of us that PAY to use the railways and therefore fund this patently absurd and unfair concession. That alone would free up billions of parnds. Your honour.

Sorted!

About allatsea

Sixty year old master-mariner. Absolutely gorgeous. Well wedged.....when compared to a Nairobi street urchin. Sorted, in that I haven't been in court recently. Hopelessly optimistic, terminally disappointed. Good with cats and other fluffy things. No musical talent. Generous to a fault provided it's someone else's round. Political centreist with far right and left viewpoints. A green activist from the hydrocarbon position with nuclear leanings. Averse to avarice but always happy to receive lottery wins, gifts, windfalls, legacies, prizes and wet sloppy kisses.
