Storm Henry is kicking the kak out of the Scottish west coast again, down here it’s not as fierce but still doing its best to be a pain in the proverbial. The three mogs have taken over the big bed in the front upstairs room and seem to be declaring some kind of UDI. I expect we’ll have a sanctions patrol in place come teatime. Whiskers and Felix off the menu unless the smugglers can get through. Some hope.
Pat says ‘we could do with a piano evening’ one of these evenings in the bleak business month wott is February. Problem is though, she says, there’s no piano and no-one to play it. Well fan my brow and send us to the foot of our stairs. Allatsea.org just happens to have a keyboard that describes itself as a ‘Portable Babygrand’ and if Yamaha can call it a ‘Babygrand’, so can we.
It hasn’t been used for about 8 years, it was an impulse buy back in the days when marine consultancy provided dosh by the bucketful (NOT SO NOW….SIGH) and has been languishing unused and un-loved in a corner in our bedroom ever since. Dusted off, hoovered out and given a blast from the mains via an aging transformer it works pretty well. Plugged into the Line 6 Spider Jam aux socket and rock it does do. Sorted. Watch out Club de Aqua. Hang on a minute, we still need a player, more specifically, a Joanna player. Anyone know of one please? Needs to be available this coming Saturday in Margate and will have to work for love and beer, no cash. Fankoo.
Couldn’t find a photo of the Line 6 so we’ll have to make do with this one of a babybabybaby 10 Watt Marshall practice amp, miked up into the PA. Our neighbours just lurve us.
