Cats and the referendum conundrum

Finny to the vets tonight. Needs a jab to keep his skin in better condition, apparently he’s allergic to stuff wott’s present in this here house. They say. Also, said vet wallah, he’s not to put anymore weight on! Cheek. He’s a big lad at 9 kilos but not, in anyway, fat or overweight. He’s simply big, over twice the length and height of any  normal house moggy for a start. He’s just a large bugger. Cheek.

Margate was looking decidely sparsely used today, those that were about looked beaten and at the end of their tethers and fed up. Their moods perhaps not helped by the ceaseless northeasterly keeping everything grey….and cold.

Margate ahoy

The in out referendum malarkey seems to be dominating  the media channels whenever there’s a break from sport or soaps or ‘light entertainment’. One of the big issues it seems is, that of immigration. Our EU membership and the resultant rights of free movement within the EU has got some folks hot under the collar. They blame our EU membership for the large migration numbers coming to the UK. Well what I, as a simple sailor don’t understand, is that why are these folks complaining about EU membership when it is generally agreed that 3/5 of all immigration is down to folks coming from countries outside the EU. Seems to simple old me that if it’s immigration you’re worried about, then simply stop the non EU sourced side of things. After all, we’ve got control of those borders haven’t we?

RGH In substation pile

Have we?

Will we if we leave the EU?

I think not!

About allatsea

Sixty year old master-mariner. Absolutely gorgeous. Well wedged.....when compared to a Nairobi street urchin. Sorted, in that I haven't been in court recently. Hopelessly optimistic, terminally disappointed. Good with cats and other fluffy things. No musical talent. Generous to a fault provided it's someone else's round. Political centreist with far right and left viewpoints. A green activist from the hydrocarbon position with nuclear leanings. Averse to avarice but always happy to receive lottery wins, gifts, windfalls, legacies, prizes and wet sloppy kisses.
